Internal Medicine
GreenField Health, 2007-present, Portland, OR

My philosophy of medical practice is simple: I want to work with my patients to help them manage all aspects of life that affect their health. I believe in working proactively to address health and lifestyle issues so that educated, motivated patients can be a potent force in the “self-management” of their quality of life.

There are many patients, however, whose chronic medical conditions need more attention. They probably have other specialists scattered across the city to manage their condition. They may have questions more often than other patients do. They most likely need periodic testing, and sometimes new treatments that are created “between appointments” that could very well improve their health care.

I have been working with the California Chronic Care cooperative on a team approach to this growing segment of medical care. In a typical practice, if a patient misses a test or fails to schedule a check-up, it can easily get lost in the cracks. GreenField Health is uniquely equipped to be sure that does not happen with our patients. The superior technology, the streamlined communication between patient and physician, and the use of patient care coordinators mean that all my patients, regardless of their health issues, will get the kind of active and proactive medical care that I believe will help them live healthier lives.

On a personal level, I came here from Michigan for the superior program at OHSU and stayed for the natural beauty, the friendly people, and the cutting-edge care delivery systems that make this a professionally satisfying place to live and work. In my spare time, I love to cook, I do some gardening, and I enjoy salsa dancing.

Dr. Mital speaks Spanish and Hindi in addition to English.
